The Okotoks Dawgs celebrated their 10th year in Seaman Stadium and Okotoks last night with a 7-6 win over the Medicine Hat Mavericks

A sold out crowd of 3500 fans took their seats as local broadcast legend Darrel Janz perfectly belted out the National Anthem and Dawg's hall-of-famer AJ Fystro's father, and two sons threw out the first pitch.

In the beginning it would seem like the Okotoks Dawgs were on point, as they entered the 9th inning with a 5-2 lead over the Mavericks.

All was well until a few errors on the field put the Mavericks on the up-side with a 6-5 score approaching the final frame.

Cheers erupted with Greg Cullen hit a double play off the wall, bringing Eddie Sanchez and Peter Hutzal home.

The Okotoks Dawgs snagged the lead again in the final moments, defeating the Mav's 7-6.

You can see the boys take the field again tonight, and Sunday as they host the Mavericks; who are looking for a do-over, tonight at 7:05.

The Dawgs square off against the Edmonton Prospects on Sunday for an afternoon game that starts at 2:05.

You can bring a fluffy snuggle buddy on Sunday as the Dawgs will be accepting a Teddy Bear Donation for charity.
