A great weekend so far for the Okotoks Dawgs as they won game two 14 to 11 over the Medicine Hat Mavericks June3 at Seaman Stadium.

It's been seven years since the team had two straight wins to start their season.

The Dawgs got off to a strong start it was 4 to one at the the bottom of the third.

But the Mavericks tried to take the lead for a moment 5 to 4.

The Dawgs then took advantage of mental errors from the Mavericks pitching staff to earn five runs in the sixth putting the game out of reach.

On deck this afternoon the Edmonton Prospects, who knocked the Dawgs out of playoff contention last year. Game starts at 2:15.

Don't forget to bring a teddy bear to donate to local charities and Ronald Mcdonald house.
