The Highwood Mustangs and Oilfields Drillers senior girls kick off the high school basketball season Wednesday, December 5, in Black Diamond.

Mustangs Coach, Ryan Hayden, says the Drillers should give them a good test.

"Oilfields has done just an awesome job. They've got a lot of good club stuff going in Black Diamond. And those kids have worked real hard at it. They'll have a tonne of confidence too, they're doing an awesome job out there. So, it'll be a good tough game for us to get started."

They hit the court at 5:30 p.m.

A couple of other games are on tap as well, including High River's Notre Dame Collegiate Timberwolves senior boys in Black Diamond to take on the Drillers Varsity boys in the late game.

The other match-up's have the Strathcona-Tweedsmuir Spartans Varsity boys and girls hosting the Holy Trinity Academy Knights.
