On the night of December 8 in the Heritage Junior "B" Hockey League, the High River Flyers were at the Kinplex Arena in Medicine Hat to take on the Cubs and found themselves in their second overtime game of the week and their third overtime matchup in a row.

After tense opposition from the Cubs, the Flyers seal the deal and end the game 6-5 in their favour.

The Flyers found themselves at a deficit in the first period, with their lone goal scored by #19 Joshua Fleck on a powerplay.

In the next period they manage to tie the game up, with further offensive support by #18 Brennan McPherson and #25 Josh Russo, who each score one goal a piece.

#26 Jharin Bantugan starts the third period strong with a goal for the Flyers, but the Cubs return two more of their own, putting the game into overtime.

The winning goal is scored by #21 Michael McTighe off an assist by Josh Russo, to wrap up the game.

After two close calls this week, the Flyers take some time off and hit the ice again this on Friday December 14, as they host the Cubs in the Bob Snodgrass Rec-plex at 8 p.m.

As for the Lomond Lakers, they were outpaced on the road on December 8 against the well ranked Red Deer Vipers.

The final score of the game was 3-1 for the Vipers.

The Lakers head out to Strathmore on Saturday December 14 for a pairing against the Wheatland Kings.

That game goes at 8 p.m.

As for the Okotoks Bisons, they're on the road on December 9 to take on the Cochrane Generals at 5:30 p.m.
