An up and down weekend for local football teams.

On the upside, the Foothills Bantam Eagles claimed the Tier II City Championship with a 44-24 win over the Calgary Mavericks Saturday, November 3, at Shouldice Park.

Across the parking lot, the Foothills Pee-Wee Eagles weren't so lucky as they fell 12-6 to the Calgary Bulldogs in their Tier II City Finals.

Across yet another parking lot at Shouldice, the Holy Trinity Academy Knights dismantled the Springbank Phoenix 32-7 to move into the Football Alberta provincial quarterfinals.

They'll take on the Catholic Central Cougars in Lethbridge Saturday, November 10, at 1:30 p.m. at the University of Lethbridge Community Stadium.

And in Taber, the Willow Creek Cobras fell 34-7 to the W.R. Meyers Fighting Rebels Friday, November 2.

But the season's not done for the Cobras as they get a second chance because their region gets two berths into Provincials this year, they get a second shot at repeating as Tier IV champs this coming Saturday as they head to Canmore to face the Wolverines at 1 p.m. at Millennium Field.
