Misty Wind

Three Times Over

Misty will be telling the story of how she made it through three long term visits to prison including two federal penitentiaries and three provincial jails and then out of the criminal lifestyle completely to build a career and start a not for profit movement helping those in need using the skills she developed as a journeyman hairstylist.

Debbie Sands

“The Story of Amy”

Debbie was born in England and moved to Toronto in 1969, where she attended university. Debbie met her husband in 1976 and moved to Alberta in 1980. They raised two girls and a boy, while running a chiropractic business in Okotoks. Unfortunately, their middle child, Amy, became very difficult and ended up in the drug scene in Calgary, also dating a gang member. We lost her tragically in 2012 to murder. Debbie wrote a book about her life and the mental disorder from which she suffered, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). Debbie has donated $10,000 from proceeds of the book to the McMan Centre, which has a programme for street kids with BPD.
