Journalist Katie Couric travels across the United States and to Samoa to talk with experts about the role genetics, brain chemistry, and culture play in defining and forming gender identity, while also engaging in intimate conversations with transgender and gender non-conforming people and their families to better understand their personal experiences, including Gavin Grimm, the Virginia teenage trans boy whose legal case to be treated like every other boy in school.

The documentary is an educational and enlightening exploration of gender, and a must-see for anyone interested in learning more about transgender people and how gender identity is defined, formed, and influenced.

This movie viewing will be followed by a panel discussion where we will welcome our audience to resectful dialogue to learn and listen with open minds and open hearts.
