We all have that one present that instantly comes to mind when we think back on all of our past Christmases. 

This specific gift isn't necessarily the best gift you ever got or maybe even your favorite but it's one of the most memorable.

For me, for some reason out of all the amazing gifts I've ever received, I always remember being gifted the "Hide & Seek Furby".

The year was 2005, I was in grade five, Heelys were all the rage and puka shell necklaces were in style even if you were in small town Nanton, AB, which was not even remotely close to a beach. 

Life was good...

It's Christmas Day and I unwrap the "Hide & Seek Furby" it's beautiful, it's cute, it talks to me, it's my new best friend.

And better yet it plays Hide and Seek! It was so fun, you would count, it would roll away, hide, and say "come find me".

You would find it, laugh, hug and start the game all over again. 

Which was super cool, until it was night time. 

That very night, I got out of bed to go get a drink of water and in the pitch black all of a sudden I heard, "come find me Shayne" and I saw these two LED lights shining from behind the Christmas tree and instantly thought it was finally happening, the demons of the night were finally going to capture me.

Until I realized it was my Furby with it's eyes glowing in the dark still playing hide and seek! 

Which didn't make it better. THIS THING WAS TERRIFYING.

Honestly, I think I took the batteries out of it after that because it was just too creepy but I'll never forget the joy it gave me on Christmas day before it went all gremlin mode on me post 11:59 p.m..
