We had Mayor Bill Robertson of Okotoks and Mayor Barry Crane of Turner Valley on a conference call here this morning to make a joint announcement, regarding the future of their respective communities. 

"WE would like to announce the amalgamation of Turner Valley and Okotoks In the create a New specialized municipality, which under the MGA gives municipalities the power to joint services and administrations creating obviously a new municipal structure. We are very excited about this and have been negotiating in good faith close to a year now, and are quite happy with the potentials we have envisioned."
