Why did Jayme Hall and Mark Doherty decide to get involved and camp out on the roof of Sobeys for a weekend in October?

To raise money for United Way!

All funds raised in Okotoks stay in Okotoks and some of the local charities that have been helped out in the past include Big Brothers and Big Sisters, KidSport, and Literacy for Life,

just to name a few. This year the United Way of Okotoks provided over $83,000 to local charities!

Come down to the event, chat with the volunteers, make a donation and see how you can get involved.

Here are the schedule of events for the weekend:

Friday Oct. 16 (Noon – 9 p.m.)

At noon, Okotoks Fire Services will hoist Eagle 100.9 Morning Show Host Jayme Hall and Town of Okotoks Community Events Coordinator Mark Doherty onto the roof of the Okotoks

Sobeys where they will remain for the weekend.

Volunteers will be on site to take your donations to bring them back down on Sunday.

Saturday Oct. 17 (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.)

Jayme and Mark continue their camp out.

Volunteers will be on site to take donations.

From 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Sobeys is helping the cause and raising funds by offering a BBQ and drinks for $5.

During the BBQ, Tamara Boivin will encourage willing participants to join her in Zumba and she will raffle off a class for a work party or private event for any donation to the United Way over $50.

Mark and Jayme may want to Zumba along to keep warm!

Sunday Oct. 18 (9 a.m.– 4 p.m.)
