The Town of Okotoks is warning residents against swimming in the Sheep River.

A release from the Town states that the river is dangerous for a number of reasons.

Fluctuating water levels, strong currents, slippery rocks, and floating debris are listed as potential hazards to residents who decide to swim in the river.

The Town reminds residents that the Sheep River is unguarded, and request the public's cooperation in being cautious when near the area.
