The Town of Okotoks has sent out an update to clarify their plans for a potential Entertainment District Pilot.

They're seeking feedback from residents on the prospect of an "Entertainment District," which would allow for the consumption of alcohol from Elizabeth Street and Northridge Drive to North Railway Street from June 17 to November 17 seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

A previous release from the town implied the pilot was approved and set to launch in June, though the town has clarified that council has not approved the pilot, and instead opted to seek feedback from residents first.

A two-question online survey was launched to gauge interest and field any concerns. The survey asks participants to rate their support of the idea on a scale of one to five stars and includes a comment space where residents are free to write out any comments pertaining to the idea.

The town will also be contacting businesses in the downtown area in the future.
