"Lightning" Luke Tournier put an even tighter stranglehold on his lead atop the WPCA World Championship standings winning the "Battle of the North" in Dawson Creek for the second straight year Sunday.

Tournier ran clean in the race, that saw plenty of penalties from other drivers.

He says he didn't even think he'd won at first.

"I thought I had lost the race eh? Because I was beat down the line, but my hired guy come running and says, oh we won it! Those other guys got penalties!"

High River's Jordie Fike was fourth on the afternoon, while Jason Glass was 10th.

Okotoks Mark Sutherland was 14th Sunday, while Milo's Jess Willard came in 20th, but will come home with the Ken Borek Memorial Safe Driver award.
