It's been quite the start for the CFR Chemical Triple 'A' Midget Bisons in the AMHL season.

At an astounding 18-3-3 record and tops in the league, there's still plenty of hockey to play against some tough teams to determine if this year's edition of the herd can get back to a league championship and beyond.

Head Coach Sandy Henry lauds his players for their efforts so far this season but it comes down to a 'What have you done lately?' scenario with the final ten games coming up after the Mac's Midget Hockey Tournament.

"We've taken a little bit of a step back, certainly we're going to play more difficult teams in the last ten games and more South Division games which has shown to be a little bit stronger than the North."

The Bisons lead the AMHL with goals for with 106 with contributions coming from lines one to four but when it gets into the dog days of the schedule and coming off the grind of the Mac's Tournament, games are going to get tighter and tougher says Henry.

"We're going to learn how to play those one goal games to this point we've been in a few and been on the wrong side of a couple lately and now we have to find a way to get on the other side of them."

Henry is looking forward to playing against division rivals like the Calgary Buffaloes and Royals down the stretch, two teams chasing the Bisons in the standings in the top three of the South.

"I think these last ten games should replicate a little bit more playoff style hockey and a lot tighter game. We know it's not going to be easy out there, I told the fellas we want to play like we're going to earn the hard goals  and the game will get easy, right now we're playing for the easy goals and the game is getting hard."

The Bisons kick off their final stretch of regular season games January 8 in Calgary against the Royals.
