We might just see a thunderstorm over the Family Day long weekend.

Sounds strange in the middle of February, but Kyle Fougere with Environment and Climate Change Canada says it could happen.

"In the High River/Okotoks area this weekend we're expecting flurries, potentially even some thunderstorms in the area on Saturday, but we're not expecting a lot of accumulations.

Sunday the snow is going to start in the evening, a little bit more, but really Monday/Tuesday are when we're going to start seeing quite a bit of snowfall in the area."
