Those looking to celebrate Culture Days this month won't have to go far.

The Venue in High River will be celebrating in a few ways during Culture Days.

Secretary with the High River Performing Arts Foundation Lori Koehler says they are doing three things to celebrate.

"We are hosting an open-air art gallery on the site of the future home of The Venue, we have 14 artists, that will be up until the end of September, we've also created a map of studios and other cultural places in High River that would normally be doing things during Culture days.

Koehler says they are also doing weekend mini-shows that are hosted online through zoom at the venue each weekend in September.

"Every Saturday and Sunday we have shows going on, we started off this last Saturday with the Foothills Brass and Ireri, they are a Mexican Latino cross-culture society in High River, they are bringing some performers to our stage on Sundays. Our performances are all being live-streamed through zoom, so anyone can go to www.TheVenueHighRiver.com and click on the button to access the zoom recording at the time of the show."

Koehler says people can come down to the venue as well.

"If you would like to come down we are doing all the procedures for COVID so we've spaced the seats, we've asked people to wear masks and we are doing contact attendance for tracing and also hand sanitizing and cleaning."

The Venues open-air gallery is open and available for the public to visit throughout the week, Koehler is asking those who do come to visit do respect the COVID regulations they have in place.

Koehler says she is happy to see people getting back out and showing support for local arts.

"I would really encourage to show some support for arts and creative minds and ideas, especially at this time when I think we have become very isolated and disconnected."

The Venue will be celebrating throughout September.
