The Raise Your Voice Year End Choral Concert filled The Evangelical Free Church with beautiful sound last night. It was an opportunity to enjoy these voices one last time.

The FCHS Concert Choir, The AHSFA Vocal Ensemble and special guests Ensemble Vocal Senior De La Salle were all in perfect voice at this special concert, and all three of these choir groups received a well deserved standing ovation from an appreciative audience.

It was the final performance for some of these students, the grade twelve singers are saying goodbye and the new students entering grade 10 next year will be taking their place under the tutelage of Nicole Hounjet.

Ms Hounjet and the AHSFA Vocal Ensemble have won Provincials the past two years in a row, which is no easy feat considering the wealth of talent out there. So a big congratulations once again to these amazing singers. This year's group have been nick named “Take Charge Babes” by their fans, and it is evident as to why when you hear them sing with such passion and energy.

The added bonus and another delight of the evening was listening to Ensemble Vocal Senior De La Salle visiting from Ottawa. These young women are known for tackling some very complicated and beautiful pieces and have done so resulting in winning National Championships, under the direction of Robert Fillion. They also became an internet sensation welcoming Syrian refugees by singing Laura Hawley's, Alhamdoulillah.

The proceeds from the concert will be donated to music education programs in need of support following the Fort McMurray fires.

I am looking forward to hearing next year's voices.
