The Dewdney Players are soon to make a triumphant return.

Their latest production, 'I Take This Man,' is premiering this week.

While it's not their first since the beginning of the pandemic, it will be their first performance back in the RPAC.

It's the second Dewdney production from the director duo of Dayna Coles and Mark Huolt, with their first being Plaza Suite from 2019.

For Coles, it's not her similarities with Huolt that make the duo special, but rather their differences.

"I think Mark and I bring different things to the table. Different experiences, different ideas, and somehow when it gets mixed all together, magic happens."

The farcical production centres around a young Boston woman who finds a man passed out at the Boston Marathon, takes him home, and tries to convince him they're married.

From Coles' description, it looks to be one of the Players' busier productions.

"This one has a lot of action. Lots of moving... people. Or bananas."

She wants it to feel like a warm welcome back for local theatre enthusiasts.

"We want to make people laugh, That's the goal. We want our audiences to have fun. There are going to be some really unique opportunities for people to enjoy some '80s throwbacks as far as our soundtracks go. It's not a show to miss."

Audiences will be able to get in on the '80s action as well with a $5 discount coupon for their next production being offered to people who show up in '80s garb.
