Stuffed animals of all shapes and sizes are welcomed at this weeks 12th Annual Teddy Bear Picnic.

The Teddy Bear Picnic is back and giving children ages 2 to 10 years old a chance to play games and their parents an opportunity to network.

Sherri Mullen, Okotoks Healthy Family Resource Centre Coordinator, says the event works to connect parents with local support groups.

"What we have is a number of organizations that serve children and families, each of which are providing a really fun activity for the kids and wanting to engage parents so they can learn about what services are offered."

Mullen adds there's a variety of organizations ready to help those in need.

"They're there to provide information to parents and sometimes parents don't need their services but they have a family member or neighbor that could make use of the services so it's a great time just to ask community service providers and businesses about their services."

The Teddy Bear Picnic takes place on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Murray Arena in Okotoks.
