The action shifts from Calgary to High River this weekend for the chuckwagons and their fans.

The Battle of the Foothills starts this weekend and Stampede Champ Layne MacGillivray is expected to be there along with other WPCA drivers from Calgary.

The Rangeland Derby paid off pretty well for local drivers.

Mark Sutherland, finishing fifth in the aggregate, wins $33,250 and Jason Glass finishing seventh takes home $29,850

Jordie Fike, who finished 27th in the aggregate, still cashes a cheque for $25,600.

Mark Sutherland won't be in High River after selling off his horses and gear and retiring at the end of the Stampede.

The races go this Friday, Saturday and Sunday and again next weekend from July 28-30.
