Homeowners in McLaughlin Meadows in Southwest High River need to boil their water for the time being after their main water line was severed Wednesday, June 26, during construction on Highwood Trail.

Contractors told residents in the early afternoon to avoid using their water for a little over an hour after telling them they'd broken the water line to the homes.

Once they got the water back on, they told residents they need to boil it until the lines can be flushed out.

There's no word on when exactly that will happen.

At least one resident complained of minor flooding in their basement after water backed up when the pressure fell.
