'Tis the season to play soccer with Santa! That's exactly what some kids did yesterday at the annual 'Soccer with Santa' event held at the Crescent Point Field House in Okotoks.

Santa got his pre-Christmas exercise yesterday as he traded in his boots for soccer shoes to kick the ball around with children of all ages during the third annual family fun event.

Mattea Wilke, Guest Services Representative at Crescent Point Regional Field House says they have fun things to do for the entire family.

"Our first time doing Soccer with Santa was 2017 and it's happened every year since then. Santa comes and runs around the field with children as well as there is cookie decorating and crafts."

Wilke says the event is open to all children and pre-registration is recommended but they have extra craft supplies for drop-ins.

The cost is five dollars per child and includes an hour and a half of activities from crafts and cookie decorating to kicking around the field with Santa.

Wilke says the event is geared to giving families something to do during the holiday season.

"We usually do some sort of large holiday event for each holiday. We have the Halloween Hoopla and an Easter activity with the same sort of thing, with lots of activity going on in the field and cookies and crafts inside."

"Lots of good options especially for children who are not of school-age yet and need something to do for the holidays. "

Wilke says in October they had over 100 kids for Halloween Hoopla and they usually get a large number of people that drop in and join the fun. The next event is in the spring at Easter time.
