The Sheep River Health Trust was busy signing cheques this week as they presented three separate cheques to The Foothills Rowan House, The Foothills Country Hospice and It Takes a Village.

These three cheques were the remainder of the money raised during their Radiothon in late June.

Sheep River Health Trust raised $43,000, of which a large chunk went to Alberta Health Services to support them during these times.

Director with Sheep River Health Trust Andrea Mitchell says they had three recipients for the remaining funds.

"We had our Radiothon at the end of June and we were so happy to see the community support us in that and help us raise just over $43,000. The three projects we sponsored for that were Rowan House Tech for Teens, Foothills Country Hospice Community Care Project and It Takes A Village Baby Sleep Safe Project."

Mitchell says they wanted to help support these programs with the support of the community.

"So Rowan House, it was $1,200 for iPads and tech devices to help teens connect with their friends while they are in the shelter, Hospice was $4,000 to facilitate a program to support patients with art therapy and music therapy to help their journey and transition smoothly for the patients and their families, and finally It Takes A Village was $3,000 to help provide cribs for families who need a crib during the most important time in a babies life."

Sheep River Health Trust will now get ready for their Christmas season and "Avenue of Trees".
