A total of 11 Foothills-area football players have been named to one of three Calgary area U16 teams competing in the Alberta Summer Games in Okotoks in July.

Four players have been named to the Calgary Metro Dinos along with receivers coach Tim Henderson of the Foothills Eagles.

They are Cyle Curkan of Priddis Greens who played for the Calgary Bulldogs, Daniel Bower of Okotoks who played for the Okotoks Eagles, Elliott Kaum of Heritage Lake Mews who played for the Okotoks Eagles and Lincoln Stewart of Okotoks who played for the Foothills Eagles.

One player, Hayden Hampton of Diamond Valley, was named to the Calgary Metro Stampeders.

Six players made the Calgary Metro Colts along with head coach John Price of Okotoks and GM Matt Hassett of the Holy Trinity Academy Knights.

They are Nate Barclay, Colton Friesen, Bowen Gottselig and Tyco St. Denis, all of Okotoks who played for the Okotoks Eagles along with Preston Selk of Diamond Valley for also suited up for the Okotoks Eagles and Wyatt Koopman of Okotoks who played for the Foothills Eagles.

Besides Price and Hassett there are two other local coaches who'll be part of the Colts coaching staff.

Special teams and receivers coach Josh Briscoe and defensive line coach Nathan St. Denis, both from the Foothills Eagles.

And one player from HTA will suit up for the South in this year's Senior Bowl, offensive lineman Logan Riemann.

The Senior Bowl goes May 22nd in Lacombe.
