Ryan Watson has had another run-in with the law, after a break-in and copper wire theft on June 1.

Strathmore RCMP has confirmed he's the same Ryan Randy Watson who made national headlines in 2018 for his role in the Eddie Maurice property rights case.

Maurice fired warning shots at Watson and another individual after he found them intruding on his property, with a bullet ending up lodged in Watson's arm.

Watson sued Maurice for $100,000, and Maurice counter-sued for $150,000.

Both claims were dropped in January 2020.

Later that same month, the Calgary Police Service issued warrants for Watson, who was wanted for possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to attend court.

This time around, he's been charged with break and enter, theft of over $5000, possession of break-in tools, and operation of a vehicle without a license.

He was released on documents to appear at a future date.
