It's been a busy few months for Rowan House, who are out and about doing public events again.

They've been back in schools with their preventative education presentations (and are already booking slots for the fall semester) as well as proceeding with their courses such as their Healthy Relationship Groups for Women.

There's one event they're particularly looking forward to though: Picnic with a Purpose.

The free event will give locals a chance to meet face to face with representatives from all sorts of area organizations offering different family and wellness services.

Ally Cramm with Rowan House says local organizations were pretty keen to participate.

"Rowan House received a grant to put on this community collaborative event, and we've had a tonne of organizations in the Foothills area come aboard with us."

The long list of event partners includes Foothills Advocacy in Motion, Inclusion Foothills, Westwinds Communities, and BGC Foothills.

There'll also be plenty of fun to have, says Cramm.

"It's not just information, we've got face painting, a petting zoo, we've got live entertainment on the stage, and carnival-style games. For a free event where all you really have to pay for is the food, it's going to be a really good time to come out."

Picnic with a Purpose is scheduled for Sunday, June 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
