Anyone needing registry services in the near future should head into their local registry as they prepare for a four day shutdown.

The provincial system will be shutdown for four days from June 19-22 for maintenance.

The maintenance is necessary to update the Motor Vehicle System which tracks all driver and vehicle information.

All services will be shutdown including knowledge and road tests and road test bookings, vehicle registrations and renewals, driver's license suspension reinstatements, driver's abstracts and in-transit permits.

Any licence and ID card services like renewals, temporary licenses, new applications, exchanges, duplicates, and reclassifications will also be unavailable during this time.

Those looking to access services during the temporary shutdown should contact their local registry as some agents are offering remote services.

Outstanding fines will be able to be paid online during the shutdown as the fines won't be able to be processed by registry agents and the Alberta traffic courts are still closed as a result of COVID-19.
