On September 5, the RCMP confirmed one of the two suspects was found dead. Damien Sanderson was found deceased on the James Smith Cree Nation.

Police continue their search for two suspects.

According to the Saskatchewan RCMP, the police received a report the suspects may be travelling in the Arcola Ave area around 11:45 a.m. in Regina in a black, Nissan Rogue with license plate 119 MPI.

The Dangerous Person Alert, categorized as an Interprovincial Civil Emergency was issued on Sunday at 12:19 p.m. by the Alberta Emergency Management Agency. The alert has been extended to cover both Manitoba and Alberta.

The Dangerous Person Alert was originally initiated by the Melfort RCMP on early Sunday morning after several calls of stabbings in the James Smith Cree Nation. There are reports of multiple victims and early indications may be that victims are attacked randomly.

RCMP later confirmed the suspects as Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson. Damien is 5'7" and 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Myles is 6'1" and 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

According to both the RCMP and the Alberta Emergency Management Agency, the public is asked to not approach suspicious persons and to not pick up hitchhikers.
