High River RCMP got a chance to rub elbows with residents in the northwest part of the town in November.

They were able to give an update on crime in the area.

Constable Jill Kingdon-Mills says they'd like to see a reduction in property crimes and thefts from vehicles.

"We'd really like to see that improve and that's why you often hear me on the radio saying, 'can you please lock your vehicles," she says.

Overall crime stats are on par for what they've seen over the last couple of years in that area.

No dates have been set but there are plans for future meetings with residents south of the Highwood River as well as business owners.
