A repeat offender has been arrested and charged by the Claresholm RCMP.

The RCMP spotted an abandoned vehicle in Claresholm in the early morning hours of June 22 and called a tow truck company to have it towed.

Upon further inspection the RCMP officers discovered and recovered an unsecured rifle and ammunition.

After the RCMP left, the owner of the vehicle returned and confronted the tow truck operator.

RCMP have charged Andrew Alberta Watson of Fort Macleod with the following:

  • Uttering threats
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon (x2)
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Fail to comply with release conditions (x3)

The 35-year-old is in custody and expected to make an appearance in Lethbridge Provincial Court today.
