With 47 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed during Monday's update, the provincial total of active cases is 1524.

4659 recoveries have been confirmed.

Two additional deaths were confirmed, though with two previous deaths having been confirmed to be unrelated to COVID-19, the total remains at 117.

Dr. Hinshaw also confirmed that one of the deaths over the weekend was that of a Cargill employee. Dr. Hinshaw says the individual had been hospitalized about a month ago.

This was the second death of an employee at the Cargill plant.

There are now 36 active cases among Cargill workers, with 911 recoveries.

58 active cases remain among workers at the JBS plant in Brooks with 548 recoveries, and 16 active cases at Harmony beef with 22 recoveries.

Three cases have also been confirmed among workers at two separate Calgary day cares. The day cares have been closed as a precaution, and employees are being offered testing.

Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Tourism Tanya Fir also appeared, to give information regarding the upcoming first stage of the province's relaunch strategy.

She announced the launch of alberta.ca/bizconnect, a resource for businesses to utilize as they reopen. The site includes information for specific business sectors, including hair salons, day cares, restaurants, and museums and art galleries.
