The Government of Alberta has announced more water grant funding for Okotoks.

On Friday, Highwood MLA RJ Sigurdson announced over $14,241,414 in water funding from Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors through the Water For Life program.

It's to be used for the Okotoks/Foothills Raw Water Supply Pipeline, which is intended to provide a long-term water source that the town has needed for some time.

This is on top of the nearly $16 million in grant funding announced in July of 2022.

This latest grant was approved on September 26.

According to a release from the province, the project is intended to be expandable to adapt to the town's future growth.
