Town administration in High River is taking a look at the idea of installing an elevator at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex.

Ken Wardley with the shuffleboard group proposed the idea so members of his group and the curling club could access the lounge upstairs.

Mayor Craig Snodgrass says it comes with a huge price tag.

"You know we're open to looking at it, but it is an expensive project, we've got to see the need and the value to it, right now it's proposed at about a $360,000 project," he says.

He says they'll have to look at whether it can be inside although Wardley suggested it could be outside although the mayor says then it'll need to be enclosed and heated which would add a lot more to the cost.

The mayor says that could balloon to a half-million-dollar project by the time it's all said and done.
