The Canadian Pro Rodeo Association is coming back to High River for Guy Weadick days this June.

High River Ag Society President Darren Hunter says Gillian Shields with C5 Rodeo Company brought forward a plan to put on the event.

"Gillian made a great proposal to us  and it seemed to be great for the Ag Society and we voted on it and thought it was a great thing to try for a year," he says. "They're going to produce it, they're going to put the added money up and they will be doing their own sales and marketing for the rodeo part of it."

He says they want to make it a family friendly event. Hunter says there'll be lots of free things to do including a petting zoo and bouncy castles and special venders in the area for anyone who wants to just come and check out the Ag Society.

"C5 Rodeo is excited to bring professional rodeo back to High River," said Gillian Shields, C5 Rodeo Coordinator. "We intend to provide an authentic and captivating rodeo production to keep spectators on the edge of their seat while bringing opportunity for the community to prosper and come together in celebrating High River's roots."

Besides the three-day rodeo there'll be a four nights of World Pro Chuckwagon Association racing from June 23 to 26.
