Pool A wrapped up yesterday, Monday July 11, with many locals making the finals on Sunday.

Tie-Down Roping:

Nanton's Logan Bird ran into trouble yesterday but he still finished third and is moving onto Championship Sunday.

Saddle Bronc:

Kole Ashbacher from Arrowwood is on the cusp of going to the finals. He's tied for fourth so we'll have to await the results of Pool B to see if he's going to finals or if he'll qualify for Wildcard Saturday.

High River's Lucas Macza however will not be moving on.  The injury riddled cowboy was only able to get in one 8 second ride on day one.  And Millarville's Layton Green also didn't qualify for the finals.

Bareback:

Clint Laye of Cadogan scored an 88 yesterday putting him in fourth spot and on his way to the finals on Sunday.

Bull Riding:

Jordan Hanson from Okotoks and Edgar Durazo of High River finished outside the top four and will not be moving on.

Steer Wrestling:

Cody Cassidy of Donalda is moving onto the finals after finishing second in the aggregate.

Barrel Racing:

Shelby Spielman from Ponoka had her fastest time yesterday to just make the cut and move onto the finals.

Pool B in the Rodeo gets underway at 1:30 p.m. today.
