High River, like a lot of communities, has caught the pickleball craze.

There are even professional leagues and teams owned by pro sports athletes like LeBron James.

The outdoor seasons wrapped up, but Brian Popowich says they're taking it indoors.

He says it's something all ages can enjoy.

"Our motto is 'Pickleball isn't just Pickleball, it's a lifestyle' and we really try to bring that to the community of all ages... the people who are playing now, the ages vary, especially down in the states it's just caught on big time with families and we're trying to do that around here," he says.

"You don't have to be an avid player but just to enjoy it and come out with your kids and your families, we'd just love to have you."

He adds there are lessons going on all the time through the Town of High River for beginners and intermediates throughout October, November and December.

Those same months also feature some tournament play.

There's an open house set for September 30 between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. at the Cargill Field House.
