A local photographer and the Foothills Country Hospice make the picture perfect pair.

Iris Jackson teams up with local businesses to offer mini pet photography sessions with 100 per cent of the proceeds going to the hospice.

Jackson says she has a personal tie to the hospice which helped drive her interest for the projects.

"I really enjoy pet photography and was trying to figure out a way to combine my love for pets with my love of volunteering," she explains. "I approached the hospice because one of our family members years ago utilized hospice, she was actually one of the key stakeholders in having the place built and then she had to utilize their services. So, when I approached the hospice with my idea about doing it they thought it was great."

Jackson says the partnership is a great fit that combines two of her passions.

"They do have comfort animals that come in at the hospice so they really thought that having something where we can combine a love of pets fit really well with what hospice is doing, and it allowed me to do what I love to do most, take photos of pets and provide volunteering opportunities and a fundraising opportunity for an organization."

All dog breeds are welcome to take part in the sessions with everything from Chihuahuas to Mastiffs getting in front of Jackson's lens.

The next photography fundraiser will take place at the old Payless shoe store location in Okotoks, with the space donated by Springwood Management, for the Hounds for Hospice on Nov. 15 from 12 p.m.- 8 p.m. and Nov. 16 from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m.
