Live music is coming back to the Highwood Centre in High River.

The local duo 'Over the Moon' with Suzanne Levesque and Craig Bignell will be playing songs from their latest album 'Chinook Waltz'.

It's a fundraiser for The Venue Building Fund in High River.

The band is currently touring the UK and will be back in time for the Saturday May 14th event.

And they're bringing some friends too, says Bignell.

"We'll be joined by Cedrick Blary, a clarinet player that's so, so good and our good friend Bruce Hoffman will be joining us on fiddle and steel and mandolin probably. It's basically going to sound like our album because they played on it too as well."

Levesque says a lot of their songs, although new, will be very relatable.

"Telling stories about the songs that are about a lot of Alberta places and living out on the Chinook Ranch and stuff like that so."

Bignell jumped in to also say it's about some familiar people.

"And characters too like our song John Ware, stories like that, we try to give people a glimpse into what it's like to live south of Longview."

Their sophomore release, 'Chinook Waltz' is also up for Juno in the Traditional Roots Album of the Year which will be announced the next day on May 15.

The event is $20 and you can find ticket info here.
