Alberta RCMP were out and about over the Thanksgiving long weekend for Operation Impact 2023.
The annual initiative from the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police is focused on road safety.
Over 2,000 tickets were issued over the long weekend.
Of those, 55 were for distracted driving, with 40 for seatbelt infractions and 15 for liquor offences.
A whopping 902 tickets were issued for speeding, with 12 of them for speeding 50km/h or more over the posted limit.
One driver was clocked at 185 km/h.
Police issued roadside sanctions to 86 drivers for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, which resulted in vehicles seizures and driving suspensions.
