An open house is being held in Okotoks regarding 338 Avenue.

According to the Town of Okotoks' Transportation Master Plan, the approximately 4.8 km stretch of road between Northridge Drive and Highway 2 will eventually need to be widened to four lanes.

The open house is part of a functional study that will aid in developing concept designs for adjacent land developers.

Having a long-term vision for 338 Avenue will also "ensure that interim designs minimize throwaway costs and that new infrastructure is installed in appropriate locations," according to the town's website.

Attendees are invited to review materials at the event and provide feedback to the project team.

The open house is being held at the Foothills Centennial Centre's Mesken Room from November 21 from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors is considering an interchange for the east side of 338 Avenue to replace the current intersection with Highway 2, with a functional planning study having been released in June of 2023.
