A local youth has been charged in connection to multiple recent muggings.

On Sunday, Oct. 2 at around 3:20 a.m., an RCMP officer noticed two males matching the description of suspects from several alleged armed robberies reported earlier that evening in the Southridge Drive area.

One was arrested, and it was confirmed he was involved in the muggings.

He had a loaded airsoft pistol on him.

The second youth fled the scene, and despite efforts from RCMP Police Dog Services, they couldn't find him.

The youth is facing multiple charges:

  • Robbery (x2)
  • Using a Firearm in the Commission of an Offence
  • Pointing a Firearm (x3)
  • Assault with a Weapon (x3)
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon

He's been released from custody by a Justice of a Peace with conditions.
