High River's Jason Glass and defending champion, Okotoks Mark Sutherland, are in the thick of things at the Saskatoon Chuckwagon Championships which got going Thursday night.

Doug Irvine leads the pack, just under two seconds ahead of Glass and Sutherland who finished 12th and 14th respectively on night one.

Rick Fraser, Vern Nolin and Cliff Cunningham round out the top four.

High River's Jordie Fike ran a clean race off the three barrel in heat two, but finds himself about four seconds off the pace and in 26th spot heading into night two of racing Friday.
