Shipping delays and limited supplies have many Albertans worried they won't be able to find a Christmas tree this year.

With a few decades of experience under their belts though, the Okotoks scouts aren't feeling too worried.

Nick Wiggins with the 1st Okotoks Scouts says they secured a good supply.

"We're lucky, we have good suppliers, we've been doing it many years, we order our trees probably nine months ahead so the trees are here. They had a bit of a slower trip over here, especially the B.C. ones, but they're all here now, so we're ready to go."

They're not worried about supply, though Wiggins says you should act quickly if you want your pick of the litter.

"Normally we aim to have enough trees to be able to sell them until really the week before Christmas, so yep, we'll certainly have trees for at least the next couple of weeks, but I know people like a certain height, certain looks, certain branches, so get in early if you can."

He's glad to carry on the tradition, not only for local families but for the scouts as a whole.

"It's a great way for us to show the community that we're out and about, scouting still despite all the setbacks over the last couple of years. We're proud to be out and about. Secondly, it is a fundraiser, it raises funds to allow the children and youth in our programs to participate in those programs, the camps and adventures we do, some of the exciting trips we do."

They'll be at Okotoks Safeway from 4:30 -7:30 p.m. on weekdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
