The Okotoks Oilers won big in front of hometown fans over the weekend.

The team started a five-game home stand and did not disappoint the Green Army fans.

They shutout the Olds Grizzlys on Friday night 7-0. Team Captain Dean Spak returned to the lineup in explosive fashion netting a natural hat trick as netminder Alex Scheiwiller stopped 24 shots for the shutout. It was Spak's first hat trick in the AJHL, and he's been with the team since the 2018-19 season.

Then on Saturday night, the fans came unglued as the Oilers took the Sherwood Park Crusaders to overtime and former Crusader, Rylan Brown scored the game-winning goal just 41 seconds into overtime. The 5-4 win stretches their winning streak to five games as they secure fourth place in the AHJL. The Brooks Bandits sit in the number one spot, followed by Sherwood Park and the Blackfalds Bulldogs out of the 16 teams in the AJHL.

The Oilers can now rest as they don't hit the ice until this Friday when they host the Bonnyville Pontiacs.
