The Okotoks Oilers have now won 13 straight games, and have a four-point lead in the AJHL South division after knocking off the Calgary Canucks 7-3 at Pason on Sunday night.

Brayden Morrison put the Oilers on the board eight minutes into the first with a power-play marker from Jack Works and Brandon Machado. The Canucks tied the game just one minute later, but Marc Pasemko scored short-handed to put the Oilers up 2-1 after the first period.

Blake Jacques gave the Oilers a 3-1 lead midway through the second, but the Canucks managed to tie the game with two goals ahead of the final frame.

The Oilers scored four in the third to lock down the win. Louis Jamernik scored twice, while Works had the winner, and Morrison scored his second of the game.

Seth Bernard-Docker and Machado each tallied three assists in the win.

Backup Parker Sawka made 14 saves on 17 shots in the win.

The Oilers, who trailed the Brooks Bandits by 15 points in the AJHL South division on January 1, have rattled off a stretch of 13-0-1 hockey to take the division lead.

The Bandits have floundered in the new year, going 4-7-0 in the same timespan.
