Okotoks Oiler Rieger Lorenz hockey season isn't over just yet.

He's been named to Canada's U18 Men's roster.

The 18-year-old Lorenz is the only Canadian Junior Hockey League player on the roster and follows his selection at the National Men’s under-18 Team summer development camp last July.

He set the Oiler record for points and goals by a rookie this season, recording 85 points, including 38 goals and 47 assists in 60 games, and adding 11 points in 14 playoff games as the Oilers reached the AJHL South final.

He's ranked 24th among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft.

Lorenz has committed to the University of Denver.

The tournament is in Germany this year and runs from April 23 to May 1.

Lorenz and Team Canada open play April 23 against the United States and all of Canada's games can be seen on TSN.
