The Okotoks Oilers faced off against the Brooks Bandits at the Centennial arena Friday night.

It's the last time the two teams play each other this season until the playoffs. And it was the Brooks Bandits skating away with a 5-2 win over a depleted Okotoks Oilers squad.

Three Oiler regulars, Sam Huck, Jack Silverberg and Rylan Brown, are currently playing in the World Junior A Challenge. However, five Bandits are also off at the tournament.

The Bandits took the lead in the first period and never looked back. The two Oilers goals came in the last half of the third period with goals from Jackson Rowland at the 6:10 mark and then Brennan Hocher added another goal with just over two minutes left in the game.  The Bandits are now riding a 15-game winning streak.

The Oilers will now regroup for a game tonight, Saturday Dec. 9th in Spruce Grove taking on the Saints. You can listen in to the radio play-by-play on The Eagle 100.9 or stream it on Okotoks Online or on the free mobile app.

The pre-game show starts at 6:45 with puck drop at 7:00 p.m.
