The Okotoks Oilers fell to the Whitecourt Wolverines Friday night 5-2.

The loss puts the Oilers 8 points behind the second place Camrose Kodiaks.

Oilers player Jordan Davies says the Wolverines are a tough team to play.

"We were right there with them, they are a top team in the league, but we stayed with them all game just couldn't get the results that we wanted," Davies says.

Davies says he believes the Oilers will have a good play off run they just have to deal with a couple of hiccups.

"We are a young team and that means we have to show maturity which is something I think we are lacking."

The Oilers take on the Calgary Canucks Saturday night at Pason Centennial Arena.

The puck drops at 7 p.m.
