Okotoks Pro Rodeo

Friday, August 23rd many families hurried down to the Millarville Racetrack for a weekend of rodeo fun. The 28th Annual Okotoks Pro Rodeo had many contestants compete in a variety of events. Barrel Racing, Tie-Down Roping, and Bull Riding are just a few of the events the rodeo had to offer. Mutton Bustin' and the Wild Pony Race gave kids the chance to compete in the pro rodeo. The Team Cancer Crushers won the finals in the Wild Pony Race on Sunday afternoon.

Chili Fest

Saturday, August 24th was the perfect day to enjoy some western-style fun at the Annual Okotoks Chili Fest. Eleven different vendors competed in the Chili Cook-Off, each adding their unique twist to the classic chili dish. Community members joined in on the fun by purchasing a $5 passport to sample the eleven different chilies. Wile tasting some chili live music and performances kept the crowds entertained. The participants then voted for their favorite chilies and the best-themed vendor booth. The Eagle Street Team would like to congratulate Kiwanis for winning the Judge's Choice Award and Smile Zone Orthodontics for winning both People's Choice Award and Best-Themed Booth.

Tails on the Trails

At the Canine Aquafitness & Rehab Center dogs and their owners came together to raise funds for Heaven Can Wait and the Guinniss Foundation. Participants and their furry friends took a walk along the trails of the Sheep River in support of these fantastic charities. On-site adoptable dogs posed at the kissing booth.

Old Fashioned Family Fun Fair

Granary Road was the place to be this weekend. They had lots of fun carnival games that were a huge hit with the kids. Some of the carnival games included the balloon pop, frisbee toss, and a fish cup game.
