It's nomination day in Black Diamond and Turner Valley. 

Candidates for the first amalgamated town council that will run the town of Diamond Valley have until noon October 31 to file their papers.

Ten people have let their names stand for the six positions as town councillor and only Turner Valley Mayor Barry Crane has stepped forward to run for mayor.

The vote takes place November 28.

The amalgamation officially goes into effect January 1, 2023.
